About this file

This document is an addendum to a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by Manassas Park City Schools (MPCS) for the replacement of chillers at Manassas Park High School (MPHS) in Manassas Park, Virginia. The RFP seeks qualified vendors to furnish all labor and materials to replace an aging chiller unit that must be energy efficient, have a life expectancy of at least 15 years, carry a warranty exceeding the industry standard, and be compatible with the existing automatic logic system. The addendum provides updates to the proposal format and content, including the addition of requirements for performance and labor/material payment bonds. It also addresses questions and answers related to the RFP, such as the circuit breaker size, electrical feed, and installation timelines.

The RFP does not require a bid bond, but the successful vendor will need to provide the specified performance and payment bonds. MPCS recommends bidding the project using standard hours and workdays, with the option to include weekend and holiday rates in case a change order is needed for premium time work. The chilled water loop that the chiller serves contains an ethylene glycol mixture, and respondents should reference the school system's calendars for implementation planning purposes.
