About this opportunity
Collin County Community College District is seeking charter bus services through a formal Invitation to Bid (ITB No. FY2024-ITB-026) for transportation of college clubs, groups, and athletic teams. The procurement aims to establish contracts with primary and secondary charter bus companies for a three-year term from August 1, 2024, through July 31, 2027. Vendors must provide buses no more than eight years old, equipped with amenities such as Wi-Fi and air conditioning, and comply with U.S. and Texas Department of Transportation regulations. The bid requires detailed pricing for different bus sizes (40, 54, and 56-passenger buses), including per-mile rates, overnight trip charges, and technology package costs. Key evaluation criteria will include pricing, service quality, and past performance. Critical dates include a bid question deadline of May 7, 2024, with responses due by May 14, 2024, at 3:00 pm. The college anticipates presenting a recommendation for award to the Board of Trustees on June 25, 2024.
The solicitation encourages participation from small, minority, veteran, and female-owned businesses, with an explicit non-discrimination policy covering race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, and veteran status. Vendors must provide comprehensive insurance coverage, including $5 million in commercial general liability and automobile liability. The estimated budget for charter bus services during the three-year contract period is $250,000, based on previous spending of approximately $130,000 and potential expansion of athletic programs. No specific incumbent vendors are mentioned in the documentation. Potential bidders must register through the district's procurement opportunities portal to access bid information. The college seeks to establish a flexible transportation solution that can accommodate various group sizes and trip requirements while maintaining high standards of safety, comfort, and service quality.
