About this opportunity

The City of Florissant, Missouri is requesting bids on a ceiling tile and grid rehabilitation project at the police station (1700 N Highway 67) under IFB 25-0253-PD, with bids due July 8, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. The non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for June 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., and questions are due June 22, 2026 with responses by June 24.

The scope includes removal and disposal of existing ceiling tiles, structural repairs and realignments of the grid system, painting the grid to like-new condition, and installation of new acoustic tiles specified as CertainTeed SMC224 sand micro, SHM sand micro, or equal. Work is organized into three phases: Demolition & Site Preparation, Structural Repair & Grid Painting, and Installation & Cleanup. The contractor must obtain all permits, call for inspections per specifications, maintain at least one open lane to traffic if applicable, and provide a one-year workmanship and materials guarantee commencing upon startup and acceptance.

The contract commences June 15, 2026 and runs for six months. Pricing is structured as two lump-sum line items: labor for grid restoration and price for new tiles. All shipping, delivery, and temporary facilities costs—including security, parking, dust control, accident prevention, and pollution control—must be included in the bid price.

A bid security deposit of not less than 5% of the total bid amount is required; a performance bond equivalent to 100% of the contract price is required from the awardee. The contractor must maintain Workmen's Compensation ($1 million minimum), Comprehensive General Liability ($1 million each person / $1 million each occurrence / $3 million aggregate), and Comprehensive Automobile Liability ($1 million each person / $1 million each occurrence / $3 million aggregate) with the City named as additional insured.

Evaluation criteria are weighted: Pricing (40%), Qualifications (20%), Protection/Cleanup (20%), Timeline (10%), Warranty (5%), and Safety (5%). The City awards to the lowest qualified bidder. Liquidated damages are $300 per calendar day for delays beyond contract completion. The contractor must comply with Missouri prevailing wage requirements and provide proof of E-Verify participation and ten-hour OSHA training for all on-site employees within sixty days of work commencement.
