About this opportunity
The City of Lubbock, Texas Community Development is requesting sealed bids for minor rehabilitation on a single-family residential property at 2418 E 30th Street, Lubbock, with bids due July 20, 2026 at 4:00 PM CST and opening scheduled for July 21 at 8:30 AM CST.
This is a CDBG-funded project subject to compliance with 24 CFR 570, 24 CFR 35, and 40 CFR 745 regulations. Lead-based paint hazards were identified on the property (exterior soffit, sides, and window frame casing), requiring EPA-trained and certified lead-safe work practices and clearance examination documentation upon completion.
The scope includes roof replacement with 30-year architectural shingles (16 squares with an allowance up to $5.00 per square foot), fascia and soffit replacement (approximately 140 linear feet), tree removal with stump grinding, front entry door replacement with storm door installation, exterior painting with lead-safe work practices, and main electrical service replacement (125-amp single phase, 3-wire service with a 20-circuit exterior panel). This is a lump-sum contract. Work must commence within 2 weeks of the Notice to Proceed and be substantially completed within 8 weeks of the start date.
Contractors must register with the City of Lubbock, obtain all required permits and licenses before commencing work, and provide proof of general liability insurance at 100 percent of total contract price with commercial general liability coverage and additional insured endorsements naming the City of Lubbock. The City is exempt from federal excise, state sales, and transportation taxes, which must not be included in the bid. Bid prices must remain firm for a minimum of sixty calendar days. The City reserves the right to award to the lowest responsible bidder or the bidder providing the best value, to reject any or all bids, and to make multiple awards if deemed in its best interest. Inquiries may be directed to Greg Daniel, Construction Inspection Specialist, at (806) 775-2291.
