About this opportunity
Lewis County is seeking bids for a mobile kitchen trailer or food truck for its "2024_Homeless_Services_Mobile_Kitchen" project. The procurement requires a new trailer or truck no longer than 32 feet, fully equipped with commercial kitchen equipment including a griddle, stove, commercial oven, prep counters, hood, fire suppression system, sinks, refrigeration, and HVAC. The primary location will be 2015 NE Kresky Ave, Chehalis, WA, with the requirement that the mobile kitchen can be transported to off-site locations to serve homeless populations during emergencies. Bidders must submit proposals electronically through the OpenGov procurement portal or via email by June 20, 2024, at 9:00 AM, with a public bid opening at 10:30 AM the same day at the Lewis County Historic Courthouse. Key qualifications include having general liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, business auto coverage of $2,000,000 per accident, and being licensed to do business in Washington. Evaluation criteria will focus on durability, ease of cleaning, and overall functionality of the mobile kitchen.
The county has explicitly committed to providing equal opportunity, with a specific emphasis on ensuring disadvantaged business enterprises are not discriminated against on grounds of race, color, or national origin. Bidders must provide floor plans, photos of similar trailers or trucks, and confirm they have not been debarred or suspended by any public agency in the last two years. Alternate bids are permitted for used vehicles, oversized trailers, different equipment configurations, and standalone dishwashing units. The county will accept payment by June 30, 2024, but delivery of the trailer or truck is not required until May 1, 2025. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the procurement allows for flexibility in vehicle type and configuration. The county reserves the right to waive irregularities, reject all bids, seek additional information, and select the lowest responsible bid or alternate proposals that best meet the project's objectives.
