About this opportunity

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is requesting bids for fire door and window frame certification and labeling services on an as-needed basis for the Correctional Construction Mentorship Program at Corcoran State Prison, with bids due October 19, 2026. Addendum 1, posted September 22, removes the State Fire Marshal approval requirement from contractor qualifications while clarifying that contractors must be approved third-party testing, inspection, certification, or listing agencies qualified under the California Building Code and NFPA 80.

Contractors must demonstrate a minimum of five years of experience in testing services for fire door, fire window, and fire-rated frame assemblies; maintain established certification, listing, and follow-up inspection programs; and provide three professional references from services performed within the preceding five years. A valid California business license or equivalent is required. Acceptance remains subject to Office of the State Fire Marshal approval.

Scope encompasses all labor, equipment, parts, devices, materials, programming, tools, installation, supervision, inspection, training, licenses, permits, insurance, transportation, travel, and per diem necessary to provide the services. Work is performed at Corcoran State Prison, 4001 King Avenue, Corcoran, California 93212, on a Monday-through-Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., excluding State holidays.

Compensation is monthly in arrears according to rates specified in Exhibit B-1, Rate Sheet. No contract duration or estimated value is stated in the available materials. Questions should be directed to Mark Flynn, Construction Supervisor III, at the CCM Site Supervisor office.
