About this opportunity
The California Department of Parks and Recreation, Channel Coast District, is seeking a contractor for the C24910012 La Purisima Mission Sprinkler Installation Service contract. The project involves designing, procuring materials, and installing a comprehensive overhead wet pipe automatic sprinkler system within the 1,707 square foot collections storage facility at La Purisima Mission State Historic Park in Lompoc, California. The procurement requires a highly specialized contractor with either a NICET Level III certification in fire protection or a Professional Engineer license in the same field. Deliverables include complete design calculations, working drawings, manufacturers' data, and a fully functional fire suppression system that adheres to local and state codes, fire department standards, and NFPA requirements. The bid is due on April 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with a planned performance period from May 1, 2025, through July 1, 2025. Evaluation will be conducted using a low-price method with potential incentives for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation.
The contract has specific provisions encouraging small business and DVBE participation, offering a 5% preference for certified businesses, though there is no mandatory minimum DVBE requirement. Bidders must possess a fire sprinkler contractor's license and submit comprehensive documentation including multiple state-required certifications such as the Darfur Contracting Act Certification and Contractor Certification Clauses. The project requires integration with existing infrastructure at the archeology storage facility, including the installation of an electric fire pump and a 25,000-gallon fire water storage tank. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the complexity of the project—involving detailed fire protection system design, specialized equipment procurement, and precise installation requirements—suggests a significant investment. The contract will cover all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to create a complete, code-compliant fire suppression system ready to connect to the water supply.
