About this opportunity
Brooks County Schools in Georgia is issuing a Request for Proposal for the design, site preparation, and installation of custom branded weight room equipment at Brooks County High School and Brooks County Middle School in Quitman. The high school requires an extensive equipment package including five double half racks with plate storage, ten flat-to-incline benches with custom logos, ten trap bars, ten land mine rack attachments, ten dip attachments, multiple bars, specialized machines such as a GHD machine and lat pull down plate-loaded machine, comprehensive weight plates ranging from 2.5 to 45 pounds, resistance bands in four color-coded levels, medicine balls, foam cubes, and power blocks with commercial pro racks. The middle school requires a complementary but smaller setup including four double racks, bumper weights in multiple denominations, safety squat bars, trap bars, straight Olympic bars, land mine attachments, EZ curl bars, adjustable dumbbells, and band sets. Sealed bids must be submitted by 1:00 PM on May 5, 2026, at the J. H. Wells Center in Quitman, with vendor onsite visits available between April 13-30, 2026, by appointment and a question submission deadline of April 29, 2026. Evaluation will be conducted using a 50-point scoring system comprising total project cost (20 points), technical specifications (15 points), vendor experience (5 points), maintenance and support (5 points), and implementation timeline (5 points). All vendors must provide proof of workers' compensation insurance, employer's liability insurance, and general liability insurance, submit a contractor affidavit, comply with Georgia's E-Verify requirements, and provide a comprehensive warranty covering all parts and onsite labor.
The procurement documents do not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions limiting responses to particular categories of organizations such as disadvantaged enterprises, minority-owned businesses, or woman-owned businesses. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the available documentation. The project must comply with O.C.G.A. 36-91, Georgia's public works law, when applicable. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the RFP materials; however, interested vendors should note that project cost comprises the largest evaluation component at 20 of 50 available points. Brooks County Schools reserves the right to request additional information or conduct interviews with bidders, reject any or all proposals, and modify the project scope prior to contract execution. All proposal preparation costs are the responsibility of the bidder.
