About this opportunity
The City of Burton in Genesee County, Michigan, is seeking sealed bids for a comprehensive Bristol Road Rehabilitation and Culvert Replacements project. The procurement involves 1.05 miles of pavement rehabilitation along Bristol Road and Vassar Road, which includes multiple critical infrastructure improvements. Specific project elements encompass rubblizing and overlaying concrete sections, full depth pavement removal and replacement, HMA cold milling of composite sections, pavement markings, signage installation, and three culvert replacements at strategic locations including Gilkey Creek, Bellingham Court, and an area west of the road rehabilitation limits near Center Road. Bidding documents will be available after September 14, 2023, at 2:00 PM through multiple platforms including OHM Advisors Plan Room, Dodge Construction Network, Construct Connect, and others. Sealed bids must be submitted to the City Clerk's office located at 4303 S. Center Road, Burton, MI 48519 by October 9, 2023, at 2:00 pm local time. Each bid must include a Bid Bond for no less than five percent of the total bid amount, and no bid may be withdrawn for 60 calendar days after the submission deadline.
The procurement appears to be open to all qualified contractors without specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises. Bidders will be required to demonstrate technical capability to complete complex road and culvert infrastructure work, with no apparent restrictions on company size or type. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the project suggests a substantial investment in municipal infrastructure rehabilitation. The City of Burton reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities in the bidding process. Interested contractors should direct any correspondence regarding the project directly to the project engineer, OHM Advisors, who will be handling technical inquiries and bid document management. Potential bidders are encouraged to thoroughly review the attached 21MB project documentation, which includes detailed book and plan specifications for the Bristol Road Rehabilitation project.
