About this opportunity
The Maine Department of Transportation is requesting bids on bridge crew clothing rental services with a bid due date of April 5, 2012 under a competitive procurement open to all qualified vendors.
The scope covers weekly rental of work clothing for bridge maintenance crews, including coveralls in 100% cotton anti-static, 65/35 blended, and 65/36 poly-cotton speedsuit constructions; insulated bib overalls in poly-quilted materials; and locker solutions for dirty and clean garment storage. Quantities are specified at 11 sets per week for standard coveralls and speedsuits, and 2 sets per week for insulated bib overalls, across a range of sizes. The vendor must provide weekly delivery, maintain inventory levels, and execute rapid replacements for worn or damaged items. Vendors must demonstrate experience in industrial uniform rental services and the capacity to support consistent MaineDOT bridge operations.
All bidders must submit quotations electronically through the State of Maine's Vendor Self Service (VSS) platform by 2:00 p.m. on the due date. Submissions must include company information, list pricing for each line item, delivery timeframe in days, and completed notarized Code of Conduct Affidavit certifying compliance with Maine's ethical business practices standards, including wage, health, labor, environmental, safety, and human-rights obligations covering forced labor, child labor, and workplace discrimination. The affidavit must be faxed to Sue Garcia at 207-287-6578 no later than bid opening.
The state evaluates quotations on lowest-priced conforming bid or best-value criteria combining quality, conformity to specifications, delivery time, and total cost, with price weighted at a minimum of 25 percent. Delivery is FOB Destination. Payment terms are net 30 days. The state is tax-exempt; quoted prices must exclude state and federal taxes.
