About this opportunity

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is seeking a comprehensive pest control services contract for its light rail stations, bus transit facilities, and controlled properties across approximately 86 facilities. The procurement, posted on September 8, 2025, with proposals due by October 21, 2025, requires a contractor with a minimum of five years continuous commercial pest control experience and technicians holding current Texas Pest Control Licenses. The Statement of Work mandates pest eradication services targeting cockroaches, rats, mice, crickets, ants, and spiders, with treatments to be performed no more than once every 30 days. Contractors must provide all necessary materials, insecticides, tools, equipment, insurance, permits, and fees, utilizing modern and professional pest control procedures. The contractor will be responsible for responding to infestations within two business days, providing comprehensive documentation of treatments, including materials used and treatment dates, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA requirements. Additional services may include specialized treatments for bees and flea eradication upon request, with the contractor required to have an entomologist on staff to support technical aspects of the pest management program.

The solicitation does not explicitly detail specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged business enterprises. While specific pricing details are not fully disclosed, the contract appears structured with unit costs per station, bee removal service, and flea eradication treatment. The procurement is governed by DART's standard Purchase Order Terms and Conditions, which include Net 30 payment terms and specific invoicing requirements. Vendors must be prepared to provide comprehensive documentation, including triplicate invoices with detailed line-item information. The contract requires vendors to have company security badges and comply with DART's operational protocols. No incumbent vendor information is provided in the available documentation. Prospective bidders must complete registration through the Bonfire platform to access full bid details and submit responses. While exact budget ranges are not specified, the broad scope covering 86 facilities suggests a potentially significant annual contract value for the selected pest control service provider.
