About this opportunity
The Town of Manchester, Connecticut is seeking competitive bids for a technology equipment procurement at Bowers Elementary School, specifically for Phase 3 of 4 in a technology upgrade initiative. The procurement is divided into two distinct categories: Category 1 for Interactive LED TV Systems/Audio Visual equipment and Category 4 for VoIP Phone System. Bid proposals must be submitted electronically by April 18, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. local time, with a subsequent public bid opening via video conference. Vendors are required to provide comprehensive technology solutions, including hardware installation and potential system integration. The bid documents are accessible through the Town of Manchester's official bid site and the SmartBidNet platform. Bidders must ensure their proposals remain valid for 45 days from the submission date, and the town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, with the ability to waive informalities or technical defects if deemed in the municipality's best interest.
The procurement emphasizes an affirmative action and equal opportunity approach, welcoming submissions from diverse vendors including minority-owned, female-owned, veteran-owned, and disability-owned businesses. Bidders must complete a Living Wage Certification Form, declaring their status as a "Covered Employer" under the Manchester Living Wage Ordinance, with specific exemptions for nonprofits, employers with fewer than 25 eligible employees, or contracts valued under $25,000. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, the procurement appears to be part of a larger technology infrastructure upgrade for Bowers Elementary School. The town has structured the procurement to ensure compliance with local wage standards and promote inclusive participation from various business types. Potential vendors should carefully review all bid documentation, including the Living Wage Certification requirements, to ensure full compliance and avoid potential bid disqualification.
