About this opportunity
The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) is seeking bids for the procurement of two (2) boats and two (2) trailers to be used in the Compliance Program's shellfish monitoring activities on Maryland waterways. The boats will be used to collect water samples, monitor algae blooms, and inspect waterways for pollution. The Invitation for Bids (IFB) provides detailed specifications for the vessels, including requirements for the hull, engine, and trailer. Bids are due by July 19, 2024, and the contract will be awarded on a one-time purchase basis to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. There is no pre-bid conference, and the contract has a one-time purchase term with no renewal options.
The IFB does not include a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) subcontracting goal or a Small Business Reserve designation. Pricing will be on a firm fixed-price basis, and the State reserves the right to make the award by item, group of items, or total bid price if it is in the best interest of the State. The IFB also includes standard State of Maryland contract terms and conditions. The contract does not have a listed incumbent vendor or current contractor, and the IFB does not provide a budget range for the procurement.
