About this opportunity
The State of Florida, Department of Health (DOH) is issuing an Invitation to Bid (ITB) to establish a 3-year maintenance service contract for bio-medical waste pick-up and disposal services for their facilities in Broward County. The scope of work includes picking up bio-medical waste from 6 locations in Broward County multiple times per week, providing bio-hazard labels and bins, and properly disposing of the waste. Respondents must submit pricing for the initial 3-year term as well as pricing for 3 potential 1-year renewal terms. The Department will make a single award to the responsive, responsible Respondent offering the lowest grand total price for the services. Bids are due on October 27, 2022, and the contract term is anticipated to begin on November 1, 2022 or the contract execution date, whichever is later. The Department has provided estimated annual quantities for the pricing, but reserves the right to increase or decrease the quantities after award based on need and funding availability.
This ITB does not appear to have any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The current incumbent vendor is Trilogy Medwaste, who is providing the services at a rate of $16.50 per 96-gallon container. The DOH was unable to provide weight reports for the annual waste serviced at each location, as requested in one of the questions. No additional details on the potential award value or budget range were provided in the available documents.
