About this opportunity

The Town of Bermuda Run, North Carolina is soliciting bids for construction of a 1.7-mile sidewalk along Bermuda Run Drive and Riverbend Drive in Bermuda Run East, with Phases 1 and 2 combined into a single project, and bids due August 11, 2026. The project is subject to prevailing wage requirements.

The scope encompasses approximately 8,800 linear feet of six-foot-wide concrete sidewalk with variable widths ranging from 3 to 6 feet in specific sections, curb and gutter installation (approximately 4,663 linear feet), grading, base preparation, drainage infrastructure, and site restoration across the corridor. Drainage work includes installation of PVC, RCP, HDPE, and CMP storm drain systems. The contractor must coordinate with fourteen utility owners, including the Town of Bermuda Run (sanitary sewer force main relocation), Davie County (water service lines), Duke Energy (electrical), Zirrus (fiber and telecommunications), Piedmont Natural Gas Company, and Spectrum (cable television). The contractor is responsible for water and sewer improvements; dry utility work will be performed by utility owners at their own cost. All work must comply with North Carolina Department of Transportation standards, Town of Bermuda Run specifications, and NCDEQ regulations. The disturbed area covers 3.75 acres within the Yadkin River Basin and requires an erosion control permit and preconstruction meeting with NCDEQ before grading commences. The contractor must use an independent testing laboratory for backfill, compaction, and soils testing and must maintain utilities at an 18-inch minimum clearance beneath drainage pipes. Temporary erosion control measures including silt fence, inlet protection, and wattle checks must remain until site stabilization within 90 calendar days of final land-disturbing activity. Contractors must obtain all required permits, provide performance and payment bonds, proof of insurance, and licensing prior to commencing work. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Pricing shall be submitted on unit cost and total project cost basis. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting all technical and contractual requirements.
