About this opportunity
The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) is soliciting proposals for a comprehensive robotic camera control system to be installed at Belmont Park in Elmont, NY. The procurement specifically seeks a solution for designing, supplying, installing, and commissioning an automated camera system for four concentric horse racing tracks. The system must provide sophisticated control capabilities for Canon CR-X300 and CR-X500 series cameras, including pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ), and focus functionalities. Key technical requirements include the ability to recall multiple preset scene files, implement automated camera movements based on horse tracking data, and execute logic-based control for PTZ adjustments under specific conditions. The system must operate independently of existing NYRA production systems while maintaining integration capabilities with tally and GPIO systems. Critical project timelines include camera installation by April 1, 2026, complete system installation by May 1, 2026, and full training completion by May 21, 2026. Proposals must be submitted to the Senior Director of Procurement by 5 PM on October 28, 2025, either electronically through the Empire State Purchasing Group website or manually at 110-00 Rockaway Blvd, Suite 1, Ozone Park, NY 11417.
The request for proposal does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Bidders can access complete project specifications through the Empire State Purchasing Group website at https://www.bidnetdirect.com/new-york/nyra, which provides comprehensive details for potential vendors. The procurement is specifically targeted at Nassau County, New York, with a focus on advanced technological integration for racing event production. While no specific budget range is outlined in the documentation, the complexity of the robotic camera system suggests a potentially significant investment in specialized technological infrastructure. The contract term appears limited to the successful installation of equipment and completion of training to NYRA's satisfaction, indicating a project-specific engagement rather than a long-term recurring contract. Prospective bidders are advised that submission of bids is entirely their responsibility, with strict adherence to the specified submission deadlines and methods.
