About this opportunity
The State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is issuing an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the procurement of various types of bags, including sandbags, burlap bags, sample bags, and poly sandbags. The ITB outlines the requirements for a 3-year contract, with the option to renew for an additional 3 years. Bids are due on September 17, 2024, by 10:00 AM EST, and a public opening will be held on the same day at 11:00 AM EST. The estimated annual spend under the contract is approximately $90,000. Pricing must be firm, net, delivered prices, F.O.B. destination, and delivery must be made within 30 calendar days or less upon receipt of a purchase order. The ITB includes technical specifications for each type of bag, as well as special conditions related to the procurement process, such as the use of the MyFloridaMarketPlace system, in-state preference, drug-free workplace preference, and the submission of recycled content information. The contract will be subject to annual appropriated funding and may be canceled by the Department for non-performance.
The procurement is open to all bidders, proposers, and respondents who are registered in the State of Florida's MyFloridaMarketPlace system. The ITB does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The procurement is for the Leon County area, but the contract will be available for use by FDOT warehouses throughout Florida. The ITB also allows for the submission of alternative materials for consideration in future bids, but this specific bid requires the bags to meet the stated specifications. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
