The Florida Department of Transportation is seeking competitive sealed bids for the procurement of various types of bags, including sandbags, burlap bags, sample bags, and biodegradable poly sandbags. This is an agency term contract to set pricing, terms, and conditions, with FDOT warehouses across the state placing orders on an as-needed basis. The contract will be effective for three years from the date of award, with an option to renew for an additional three-year period. Delivery is required within 30 calendar days of a purchase order, as the bags are used for emergency situations. Bidders must be registered in the State of Florida's MyFloridaMarketplace system, and pricing must be firm, net, delivered prices, F.O.B. destination. The bid opening is scheduled for January 17, 2024, and the intended award will be posted on January 22, 2024. Samples of the proposed items may be required for testing and approval prior to award.
This is an open market competition, with no incumbent vendor identified. Preference will be given to bidders with a principal place of business in Florida, and to vendors with a drug-free workplace program. The estimated annual spend under the contract is $60,000, and there are no specific budget amounts or set-asides mentioned. Packaging requirements are minimal, with bundles of 250 or less preferred, and all bag types must be made of biodegradable materials.
