About this opportunity
The City of Temple in Bell County, Texas, is soliciting competitive bids for a comprehensive automotive repair parts and services contract through Bid 38-01-23. The procurement is structured as two independent bids: Bid A (Products Only) and Bid B (Services and Products), targeting light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicle repairs for the Fleet Services Department and other city departments. The primary objectives include achieving cost savings through a consolidated solicitation process, maintaining a diverse vendor pool to meet varied automotive needs, and reducing administrative overhead through standardized ordering and delivery. Vendors must provide a wide range of automotive services and products, with bids being accepted continuously until September 30, 2027. Qualified suppliers are expected to support the city's in-house parts room operation and fleet maintenance capabilities, with the intent of providing comprehensive and competitive service agreements. Potential bidders must complete required documentation, including a Bidder Information Sheet, Credit Check Authorization, and Conflict of Interest Questionnaire.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the available documents, the procurement appears open to multiple vendor types. The solicitation suggests a preference for vendors capable of providing extensive automotive parts and repair services across various vehicle types and departmental needs. No specific incumbent vendors are mentioned, and the contract seems designed to create a flexible vendor pool rather than selecting a single provider. The procurement does not specify a precise budget range or award value, indicating potential scalability based on actual city fleet maintenance requirements. Vendors will be evaluated on their ability to meet the comprehensive service and product needs of the Fleet Services Department, with an emphasis on competitive pricing, service quality, and operational efficiency. Interested suppliers should review all attached documents carefully and note that previous submissions in the Mercell e-bidding portal do not require resubmission in the Bonfire system.
