About this opportunity

The Alabama Department of Agriculture is seeking pipette calibration services for 216 pipettes across four veterinarian laboratories located in Auburn, Boaz, Elba, and Hanceville. The procurement covers calibration of 152 single-channel, 10 eight-channel, and 54 twelve-channel pipettes, with comprehensive service requirements including documentation by serial number, gravimetric inspection, thorough cleaning, calibration label application, seal/O-ring replacement, and calibration according to ISO 8655 tolerances. Vendors must provide pass/fail certificates, conduct 10% and 100% "as left" and "as found" readings, and submit NIST traceable balance and thermometer calibration certificates. The service must be completed by June 20, 2024, with all travel expenses included in the quoted price. The proposal is due on May 19, 2025, with the opportunity posted on May 14, 2025, covering jurisdictions including Conecuh County, Coosa County, Limestone County, Mobile County, and Birmingham City.

The procurement does not explicitly mention set-aside designations or restrictions for specific enterprise types. The opportunity appears open to qualified vendors capable of meeting the detailed technical specifications. While no incumbent vendors are identified, the contract involves service across four distinct laboratory locations with specific pipette calibration requirements. The solicitation includes a standard boilerplate document that outlines vendor registration requirements, compliance with state laws, and various administrative conditions for participation. Though no specific budget range is provided, vendors must include all travel expenses in their pricing and demonstrate the ability to comprehensively service 216 pipettes across multiple locations with precise calibration and documentation standards. Successful vendors will need to demonstrate technical expertise in pipette calibration, NIST traceability, and compliance with ISO 8655 tolerances.
