About this opportunity

Atherton Community Schools is soliciting sealed bids for construction work under its 2025 bond program, with bids due electronically November 17, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. local time. No formal set-asides are designated, though the district encourages participation from qualified local contractors, small businesses, minority-owned businesses, women-owned businesses, and veteran-owned businesses.

The work is organized into eighteen packages covering concrete, masonry, miscellaneous steel, rough carpentry, roofing, metal panels, joint sealants, overhead doors, flooring, painting, athletic equipment, special construction, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, earthwork, landscaping, and fencing. Work is performed at three Burton, Michigan sites: Atherton Elementary School, Atherton Junior/Senior High School, and Van Y Virtual Academy. Key scope items include a new athletic football field with stands; a running track, natural grass field, bleachers, press box, softball dugouts, and restroom building; rooftop HVAC replacement with structural reinforcement; backup generator installation; roof replacement at Van Y Virtual Academy; cafeteria upgrades; unit ventilator and condenser replacement; domestic water piping replacement; and campus site work including selective demolition, grading, drainage, utilities, asphalt paving, concrete, fencing, landscaping, and irrigation. A bid bond or certified check equal to 5% of the bid amount may be required.

Bid documents were available from October 20, 2026 through the Roncelli Plan Room. Written questions were due October 21, 2026 through BuildingConnected, and the non-mandatory pre-bid site visit was held October 27, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at the Atherton High School Main Entrance. Both dates have passed.

Tim Olind manages the project. Hobbs + Black Associates is the architect, Plante Moran Realpoint is the owner representative, and Roncelli Scapcon is the construction manager. The district reserves the right to reject any or all bids and accept the bid deemed in its best interest.
