About this opportunity

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is conducting an electronic Request for Quotes (eRFQ) to establish a contract for Asphalt Plant Mix commodities across all districts, utilizing the State Purchasing Act. This procurement seeks to identify qualified suppliers who can provide hot mix asphalt materials that conform to the current edition of Qualified Product List (QPL) #45. Suppliers must have previously submitted products that have been tested and proven to meet GDOT's specification requirements. The solicitation is specifically for supplemental asphalt plant mix materials, with a critical requirement that bidders cannot respond to the 48400-DOT0003362 solicitation in districts where they already hold a contract. The eRFQ was posted on June 30, 2025, with a response deadline of July 21, 2025, giving potential vendors approximately three weeks to prepare and submit their quotes. Vendors must be included on the QPL, which serves as a pre-qualification mechanism to ensure material quality and compliance with departmental standards.

The procurement appears to have no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational types, suggesting an open competition for qualified suppliers. Vendors must be listed on the Qualified Product List #45, which effectively limits participation to those who have already demonstrated product quality through prior testing. While specific award values are not disclosed, the statewide and multi-district nature of the contract suggests a potentially significant procurement opportunity. The contract will likely be awarded to one or more suppliers capable of meeting GDOT's technical specifications and quality standards. The use of the QPL as a pre-qualification mechanism indicates that GDOT is prioritizing proven product performance and reliability over other potential selection criteria. Suppliers interested in participating must carefully review the current QPL and ensure their materials meet the most recent edition of the specified requirements.
