About this opportunity
The Los Angeles County Public Works Department is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) for an as-needed transportation services contract (2017-SQAN002) through a competitive procurement process. The primary objective is to establish a qualified vendor pool capable of providing transportation services on an as-needed basis for the county. Interested contractors must submit comprehensive qualifications demonstrating their capabilities to perform these services, with full proposal details available on the department's website at http://dpw.lacounty.gov/brcd/servicecontracts/. The solicitation documents can be obtained directly from contact persons Anna Leung or David Pang during business hours (Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Potential proposers are strongly encouraged to register on the Public Works Business Opportunities website to receive automatic notifications about any updates or addenda. The proposal submission deadline is January 16, 3025, with ongoing opportunities for interested firms to demonstrate their transportation service capabilities.
The county has established specific preferences and encouragement for participation from local small businesses, disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBE), and social enterprises. These certified firms may be eligible for benefits including a 15 percent price preference, not to exceed $150,000, when applicable to the contract. Proposers are required to complete a certification process to qualify for these preference programs, with the county actively promoting diverse and inclusive contracting opportunities. While specific award values were not explicitly stated in the solicitation, the contract appears designed to create a pre-qualified vendor pool from which the county can draw for transportation services as needed. The procurement approach suggests a potentially ongoing, multi-vendor arrangement that allows flexibility in selecting service providers based on specific project requirements and vendor qualifications.
