About this opportunity
The City of Newark, New Jersey is conducting an Invitation to Bid (ITB) #2023-12 for Aquatic Uniforms, Equipment and Supplies, targeting swimming pool equipment and supplies for aquatic activities and events. The procurement is specifically seeking vendors capable of providing a comprehensive range of swimwear and pool-related equipment, with bidders required to submit percentage discounts on women's and men's swimwear and swimming pool supplies. Electronic bids will be accepted through the ProcureNow system until 10:15 am on May 31, 2023, with a strict deadline that prohibits late submissions. Bidders must upload digital catalogs and provide detailed pricing proposals that encompass all associated costs including labor, materials, transportation, shipping, handling, and delivery. The contract will span a two-year period, with vendors expected to maintain sufficient inventory to fulfill emergency orders and submit the most current manufacturer price lists. Evaluation criteria will likely include the percentage discount offered, product availability, and the vendor's ability to meet comprehensive supply requirements. The City reserves the right to inspect bidders' business locations to verify their capacity to obtain and stock required items.
The procurement appears open to all qualified vendors, with mandatory compliance requirements including state-mandated affirmative action provisions, business registration, and anti-discrimination laws. While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed, bidders must demonstrate robust business credentials and the ability to provide comprehensive aquatic supplies. The contract allows for potential price adjustments based on manufacturer price lists, with increases limited to legal thresholds. No incumbent vendors are mentioned in the documentation, and there are no explicit restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond to the bid. Although a specific budget range is not provided, the two-year contract suggests a potentially significant procurement opportunity for vendors specializing in aquatic equipment and uniforms. Interested vendors must carefully review all specifications and ensure complete electronic submission through the ProcureNow system before the stated deadline, with particular attention to providing comprehensive pricing information and meeting all state and local regulatory requirements.
