About this opportunity
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) is seeking to establish a requirements contract for animal supplies, feed, and equipment through an electronic solicitation on BidNet Direct. The procurement aims to support various MCSO units, including K-9 units (SWAT, Special Investigations), Lake Patrol (horses), and MASH unit, with a comprehensive range of animal-related products. Vendors must complete the "Pricing for Items" spreadsheet, indicating their ability to supply items across multiple categories such as grooming supplies, bedding, toys, kennels, leashes, hygiene items, medicines, and animal feed for dogs, cats, and livestock. The solicitation requires vendors to provide website or catalog references and potentially list specific brand or manufacturer discounts. Key submission requirements include registering on www.bidnetdirect.com, providing comprehensive company details, and submitting all documentation electronically at least 24 hours before the July 8, 2025 due date. Evaluation criteria include payment terms, ability to supply requested items, and compliance with insurance and legal requirements, with vendors required to maintain commercial general liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence and automobile liability insurance of $2,000,000.
The contract does not appear to have specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, but vendors must comply with immigration laws, E-Verify requirements, and background check provisions. Vendors must be prepared to accept procurement card payments and potentially allow other governmental entities to purchase from the contract. The contract term is initially one year, with options to extend for up to two additional one-year periods or continue on a month-to-month basis for up to six months after expiration. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the requirements contract allows for flexible, as-needed procurement without fixed quantity commitments. Vendors must be prepared to email invoices to mcso_accounts_payable@mcso.maricopa.gov and complete vendor registration with the Maricopa County Department of Finance if awarded the contract. The county reserves the right to award to multiple vendors and make awards in whole or in part, suggesting a potentially significant opportunity for qualified suppliers of animal-related products and services.
