About this opportunity

The State of Utah Division of Purchasing is seeking pre-qualified contractors to perform lop and scatter thinning services on approximately 429 acres of Anderson Mountain near Paragonah in Iron County. This Invitation for Bid (IFB) aims to select a single vendor through a lowest-cost responsive and responsible bidder process. The project requires comprehensive thinning services with a defined performance period from August 1st to November 30th, 2025. While a mandatory site visit is not required, potential bidders are strongly encouraged to inspect the project site to understand local conditions that might impact contract performance. Vendors must guarantee their pricing through project completion and participate only if they are currently on the state's Pre-approved/Pre-qualified Vendor list. The bid submission deadline is August 11th, 2025, with an anticipated contract award following a thorough evaluation of vendor qualifications and bid responsiveness.

Participation in this procurement is strictly limited to pre-qualified contractors already approved by the Utah Department of Natural Resources. No specific set-aside designations or preferences for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the available documentation. The contract appears to be a standard service procurement without detailed information about incumbent vendors or existing technological infrastructure requirements. While specific budget ranges were not disclosed in the provided materials, the scope involves substantial land management work across a 429-acre area. Potential bidders will need to demonstrate technical capability in forest management, specifically in lop and scatter thinning techniques, and comply with all state procurement regulations. The contract will be awarded based on cost-effectiveness, vendor responsibility, and alignment with the project's technical specifications outlined in the Statement of Work.
