About this opportunity
Southgate Community Schools is seeking competitive bids for a comprehensive renovation project at Anderson High School, specifically targeting the tennis courts and running track. This procurement opportunity, posted on June 27, 2024, and located in Wayne County, Michigan, involves two primary project components: tennis court renovations and track surface improvements. For the tennis courts, contractors must power wash and prepare eight courts, apply new surfacing including acrylic coatings and stain blockers, and stripe the courts to meet USTA standards. The track renovation requires cleaning, crack repair, and applying a specialized polyurethane and EPDM rubber granule surface with 8-42" lane markings. A non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for July 9th, 2024, with sealed proposals due on July 17th, 2024, at 3:00 PM EST. Bidders must meet specific qualifications, including being in business for at least five consecutive years, licensed in Michigan, with demonstrated experience in educational sector projects valued at $200,000 or more for at least five clients within the past decade. The evaluation criteria will focus on capabilities, fee structure, project schedule, client references, and overall team approach.
The procurement does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Bidders must submit several notarized documents, including a Non-Collusive Affidavit, disclosure of familial relationships with school board members, and compliance with the Iran Economic Sanctions Act of 2012. The project is expected to commence on August 1st, 2024, with completion targeted for August 20th, 2024. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the renovations suggests a substantial investment. Contractors are required to provide warranty and servicing information, include licensing fees and software upgrades for the life of the product, and offer personnel training. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any bids, award the contract to a non-low bidder, and make awards in a manner deemed in the best interest of the owner. Additional requirements include proper site restoration, protection of existing landscaping and surfaces during work, and legal disposal of existing materials.
