About this opportunity
The University of Wisconsin-Madison's Purchasing Services is seeking bids for ancillary services to support the School of Veterinary Medicine through a competitive Request for Bid (RFB) process. The procurement covers a comprehensive range of veterinary support services, including farrier services, veterinary dental services, animal crematory services, laboratory and testing services, medical and animal waste disposal, monitoring services, animal care and health services, and other specialized veterinary hospital support services. Bidders may submit pricing for any or all service categories listed on the Itemized Bid List. The contract term is set for three years (July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025), with potential automatic renewal for two additional one-year terms. Bid responses were originally due by 2:00 p.m. Central Time on July 18, 2022, but were extended to July 28, 2022, with submissions to be sent via email to bids@bussvc.wisc.edu. The University reserves the right to require oral presentations, product demonstrations, or site visits, and may conduct a trial period of up to six months to evaluate contractor performance.
Bidders must meet specific qualifications, including being in business for a minimum of five years and providing three business references comparable in size and scope. All contractors must maintain commercial liability insurance with minimum coverage of one million dollars, provide workers' compensation insurance, and carry motor vehicle insurance. The contract is not limited to a single vendor and may be awarded to multiple contractors to ensure service quality and timely completion. The procurement is available to other University of Wisconsin System campuses, State of Wisconsin agencies, and Wisconsin municipalities. While no specific dollar value is guaranteed, bidders must submit firm pricing for 180 days following bid opening, with any price increases limited to documented cost increases and requiring thirty days' notice. Pricing must include governmental and educational discounts, with payment terms of Net 30 days upon acceptance of services. The University reserves the right to negotiate additional discounts or lower prices with awarded contractors and is not obligated to purchase any minimum quantity of services.
