About this opportunity

The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD) is seeking qualified contractors to provide comprehensive fire alarm system testing, inspection, and preventive maintenance services across its facilities. The procurement opportunity, posted on September 4, 2025, with proposals due by September 24, 2025, requires contractors to perform scheduled inspections and maintenance of alarm systems, including visual examinations of devices, sensors, detectors, wiring, and panels. Contractors must conduct thorough preventive maintenance to ensure system operational readiness and compliance with all applicable NFPA standards. The scope of work encompasses testing and verifying all system components, including panels, subpanels, annunciators, communication pathways, battery backup systems, and audible/visible alarms. Qualified bidders must demonstrate a minimum of three years of experience in fire alarm system testing and maintenance, and possess specific certifications such as a Fire Alarm System Agent Certification. Contractors are required to submit detailed inspection and maintenance reports to the District Representative within 24 hours of test completion, documenting any identified issues or potential risks.

The procurement opportunity appears to have specific vendor preferences, including considerations for local vendors, veteran small businesses, and opportunity zone businesses. The solicitation will be conducted through the PlanetBids Vendor Portal, which offers free registration and encourages broad participation. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the required services suggests a potentially significant contract value. The jurisdictions involved include Orange County and Fellsmere City in Florida, indicating a localized procurement process. Vendors must complete registration on the PlanetBids platform to access full bid documents, submit questions, and ultimately propose their services. The procurement seems designed to ensure transparency and fair competition, with multiple pathways for vendor engagement and a focus on selecting contractors with demonstrated expertise in fire alarm system maintenance and testing.
