About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is pursuing a single source procurement for one Agilent 7010D Triple Quadrupole Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS) with an Electron Ionization (EI) system for the Division of Food Safety's Bureau of Laboratories. This procurement is specifically intended to enhance analytical testing capabilities and support the USDA Pesticide Data Program. The procurement is classified under UNSPSC code 41115400 for spectroscopic equipment and is being conducted as a statutorily mandated fifteen business day advertisement of an intended single source purchase. Prospective vendors are required to provide relevant information to the contact person, Nita Jackson, by December 23, 2025. The procurement requires specialized laboratory equipment with specific software and method compatibility, seamless data acquisition workflow integration, and a self-cleaning electron ionization source. Critical evaluation criteria include the vendor's exclusive capability to provide the specific equipment model and ensure standardization with existing analytical platforms.
The procurement appears to have no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations. The current infrastructure involves two existing identical Agilent systems, necessitating that the new equipment seamlessly integrate with current laboratory workflows. The procurement is specifically targeted to Agilent Technologies, Inc. as the sole source vendor, based on their unique equipment capabilities and compatibility requirements. The estimated dollar amount for this procurement is approximately $400,000, with a specific contract amount of $321,529.90. The procurement is geographically situated in Leon County, Florida, and will directly support the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' regulatory program and pesticide data testing capabilities. The single source justification emphasizes the critical need for standardization across platforms to enhance employee training efficiency, sample throughput, and regulatory reporting consistency.
