About this opportunity
The State of Kansas is seeking bids for haying services at the Melvern Wildlife Area located in Marion County. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) is issued by the Kansas Department of Administration Procurement and Contracts and has a contract term of 10 years with no renewal options specified. The successful bidder will be responsible for all aspects of the haying operation, including cutting, swathing, baling, and removing the hay from approximately 63 acres of cool-season and native/prairie grass. Bids are due by April 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM CDT, and no pre-bid conference is scheduled, but bidders must notify the Procurement Officer at least 24 hours prior to the bid closing to receive an official invitation. Bidders are required to obtain a current Tax Clearance Certificate from the Kansas Department of Revenue and include it with their bid submission.
The IFB includes several state-level requirements, such as the Bidder Preference Program, the Disabled Veteran Owned Business program, and forms related to Boycott of Israel, Sexual Harassment, and Immigration Reform and Control Act compliance. Pricing must be provided in US Dollars and will be available to political subdivisions such as cities, counties, and school districts. No additional fees can be charged for the use of the state's Procurement Card. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, and the State reserves the right to confirm the tax status of potential contractors and subcontractors prior to award.
