About this opportunity

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is seeking to procure Global Positioning System (GPS) adult and fawn collars, Vaginal Implant Transmitters (VITs), and airtime service from Advanced Telemetry Systems Incorporated (ATS) through a single-source acquisition. This technology will be used to examine white-tailed deer fawn survival and cause-specific mortality in the North Florida Deer Study at the Ordway-Swisher Biological Station. The agency requires 3 years of service from the date of the first purchase order, and the estimated dollar amount for this acquisition is $90,000. ATS is the sole source for this technology, as the agency has already deployed 66 ATS collars and currently has 8 deer collared using refurbished collars from a previous study. Continuing to use ATS collars is critical to maintain data integrity and efficient GPS data management, as the collars, VITs, and fawn collars are linked for communication and control, allowing the agency to track individual adult female reproductive success over multiple years without having to replace the collar on the adult.
