About this opportunity
Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) in Oregon is seeking competitive bids for the procurement and delivery of advanced robotics platforms intended to support instruction, research, and workforce training initiatives within its Advanced Robotics Laboratory. The college is soliciting bids for two complementary robotic systems: a humanoid bipedal robot platform with a minimum of 30+ degrees of freedom, integrated dexterous hands or manipulators, integrated sensors for balance and perception with computer vision support, onboard GPU-capable computing compatible with ROS/ROS2, open software development platforms with SDKs and APIs, curriculum and training resources, battery and charging systems, and a remote controller; and a quadrupedal robot platform featuring four-legged dynamic walking capability suitable for indoor and outdoor use, integrated perception sensors including LiDAR or equivalent 3D sensing, visual sensing capability, onboard GPU or AI accelerator-capable computing, open development environments compatible with ROS/ROS2, and educational and research support resources. Both platforms must support open software development, robotics datasets, research-friendly APIs, and common robotics development tools. Bids are due no later than 2:30 PM on March 25, 2026, submitted via email to Randi.Roehrick@mhcc.edu using the attached spreadsheet form, with all equipment required to be delivered on or before June 30, 2026. Award will be made to the vendor providing the best value based upon price, product specifications, and warranty provided. Bid submissions must include a lump sum fee encompassing delivery costs, brief item explanations, manufacturer information, warranty details, confirmation of specification compliance, product specifications, educational documentation and learning resources, technical support availability, and delivery timeline.
The Request for Bids contains no specific set-aside designations or restrictions targeting particular types of organizations, disadvantaged enterprises, or minority-owned vendors. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the procurement documentation. Similarly, no existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements are specified for the robotic systems. The procurement does not identify a specific funding source or budget range, leaving the award value undetermined pending vendor submissions and MHCC's evaluation of best value. MHCC reserves the right to determine the most responsible bidder and will reject any bids submitted after the deadline or not submitted on the designated spreadsheet form.
