About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) is seeking bids for the Crystal River State Park Boat Barn project, designated with bid number BDC47-24/25, located in Leon County. The procurement appears to involve the construction of a boat barn or carport structure, with specific technical requirements outlined in the project drawings, particularly on Sheet G101. Potential bidders must submit their proposals to Laurinda Micheels, Contracts Specialist, at the Bureau of Design and Construction in Tallahassee by April 15, 2025. The project requires careful attention to technical specifications, including potential pole barn configurations and precise benchmark and elevation considerations. Bidders must also acknowledge an addendum that addresses several clarifying questions about project implementation, such as payment procedures and archaeological resource management requirements.
While the procurement documents do not explicitly outline set-aside designations or specific enterprise restrictions, the project involves a state-level government contract that typically encourages diverse contractor participation. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection will be responsible for hiring and paying the Archaeological Resource Manager for the project. The General Contractor will be permitted to submit monthly payment requests for completed work, suggesting a progress-based compensation structure. Although the exact project budget is not specified in the available documents, the complexity of the boat barn construction and the involvement of archaeological resource management indicates a potentially significant investment. The contract appears to be open to qualified contractors who can meet the technical specifications and submit a comprehensive bid package that includes the signed addendum.
