About this opportunity
Pinellas County School Board is seeking qualified contractors through a competitive invitation to bid process to establish a rotating list of no more than three contractors capable of installing card access systems and performing repair and maintenance services on existing access control systems across district facilities. The procurement encompasses all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and supervisory services necessary to complete installations and repairs in accordance with the National Electric Code, Life Safety Code, Florida Building Code, and State Requirements for Educational Facilities standards. Prospective contractors must be licensed, competent, and experienced in access control system installation and maintenance. All work must comply with the specified codes and requirements applicable to public educational facilities owned by the school board. The bid submission deadline is March 4, 2026, with related documents including technical specifications for access control systems, structured cabling requirements, insurance specifications, a resume form, a performance history form, and bid protest procedures available for review. Evaluation will be based on contractor qualifications, pricing, performance history, and ability to meet the district's technical and compliance requirements.
The invitation to bid documents do not explicitly identify set-aside designations or restrictions limiting participation to specific enterprise categories, though interested vendors should review all bid documents to confirm eligibility requirements. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the available procurement materials. The district reserves the right to supply all or portions of required parts and equipment, which may affect the scope and pricing structure of contractor proposals. Prospective bidders should note the posted addendum revision dated February 23, 2026, which may contain modifications to the original bid requirements. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the available summary information, requiring contractors to review the complete solicitation documents for financial parameters and pricing guidance.
