About this opportunity

The Maine State Warden Service is requesting quotes on a 4-wheel ATV and LED lighting equipment, with quotes due July 23, 2012. In-state bidders and those offering Maine-manufactured commodities receive preference in tie-bid resolution.

The procurement spans two primary items. The ATV specification calls for a 4x4 vehicle with a minimum 400cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, electric start with auxiliary recoil, automatic transmission with high, low, park, neutral, and reverse modes, shaft-driven two- and four-wheel capability, 25-inch tires, heavy-duty front and rear racks and bumpers, independent rear suspension, MacPherson strut front suspension, hydraulic front and rear brakes, 4-gallon fuel capacity, 3,000-pound electric winch, cover, and rear storage box. The LED lighting component centers on dash and deck lights for twelve Maine State Warden Service snowmobiles, with each unit requiring a single blue LED lighthead and flasher assembly operating on 12 VDC with a maximum 0.5-amp current draw, controlled by a single toggle switch. Lightheads must feature weatherproof, solid blue LEDs (not clear lens with blue coloring) and carry a standard five-year warranty; flasher assemblies require a standard two-year warranty.

Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder considering best value to the State, with evaluation based on quality of goods, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and overall economy. Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item, delivered to destination and inclusive of all discounts and transportation charges. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in determining the low bidder. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes and reserves the right to award on an individual-item or group basis, whichever serves the State's best interest. Quotes must be submitted electronically and close at 2:00 p.m. local time on July 23, 2012.
