About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting quotes for four power reversing underframe scrapers for 6x4 plow trucks, with quotes due December 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. local time. In-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine receive preference in case of tie bids.
The scope is hydraulically operated scrapers with 10-foot blade width constructed from heavy-duty corten steel, featuring a standard AASTHO-punched mold board with replaceable carbide blades, hydraulic lowering and raising capability with 500 PSI relief valve, reversing operation with left and right swing angles up to 45 degrees, and tiltable design for road travel with minimum 9-inch ground clearance. Units must be operable from the truck cab either electrically or manually and compatible with existing Fleet Services equipment. Each scraper includes two parts, repair, and operator's manuals with dual coats of lead-free rust-proof primer and paint applied. Finish specifications include two-part epoxy primer (3–5 mils dry thickness) and Imron 3.5 HG Cat Highway Yellow paint (code #42-3133) at 5–7 mils dry thickness. Units must feature quick-detachable capability with quick disconnects and dirt protectors on all hydraulic lines.
Bidders must submit two separate quotes: one for the underframe scraper alone and one for the complete installation package including valves, hoses, parts, and labor. All pricing includes shipping and delivery to Maine DOT Fleet Services in Augusta, Maine. Bidders must submit specification sheets noting any exceptions to stated requirements and must inspect trucks for equipment compatibility and obtain approval from both the vehicle manufacturer and Maine DOT for any required modifications. Manufacturer's standard warranty terms must be stated in the proposal, commencing on the in-service date. Maine DOT reserves the right to pre-inspect equipment before delivery and may request training within eight weeks of delivery. Quotes should exclude Federal and Maine sales taxes; transportation charges and cash discounts (minimum 20 days) will be considered in evaluation.
