About this opportunity

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for District 10 is seeking bids for a term contract to rebuild and/or repair guardrail, end treatments, and attenuators across nine counties, including Allen County. The procurement, identified as Invitation to Bid 312-26, will establish a contract for guardrail component services from August 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. Contractors must exclusively use pre-approved products listed on the Office of Roadway Engineering's website, covering various guardrail types including Type 5, MGS, and Barrier Design, along with associated components like anchor assemblies, bridge terminal assemblies, and impact attenuators. Bidders must provide detailed pricing for repair, installation, removal, and replacement services, with specific line items for different repair scenarios and configurations across multiple cable rail systems such as Brifen, Gibraltar, Nucor, Trinity, and Safence. The bid requires both hardcopy and electronic submissions, with the official due date set for July 30, 2025, and pricing structured to include non-prevailing and prevailing wage rates, with varying hourly rates for labor and equipment based on repair timeframes.

The contract allows multiple bid awards and does not appear to have specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises. Contractors must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage, including commercial general liability, automobile liability, workers' compensation, and cyber liability. Bidders are required to comply with Ohio prevailing wage laws and provide extensive documentation, including cable tension measurements, ambient temperatures, and specific location data for each repair. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the contract includes detailed pricing mechanisms for mobilization costs across various highway configurations and work scenarios. Contractors must be prepared to respond to urgent repairs within 72 hours and provide work only upon receiving a signed work order from the district project coordinator. The procurement covers repair services for guardrail components in District 10's nine counties, with a focus on maintaining highway safety infrastructure through precise, regulated repair and replacement processes.
