About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids for walk-through metal detectors (2 high-end units and 4 standard units) with bids due April 15, 2010.
The metal detectors must conform to EU directives EN 60950 (electrical safety), EN 50081-1 (emission), and EN 50082-1 (immunity); meet NILECJ-0601 security levels 1–5; and obtain FAA approval. Units must be safe for wearers of heart pacemakers, pregnant women, and magnetic recording materials and operate in ambient temperatures from −10°C to +55°C with humidity tolerance up to 95% without condensation and IP 20 protection rating.
Power supply options are AC (90–264VAC / 45–65Hz, 45W consumption, T1A 5×20mm fuse) or battery (24–35V DC). Operational features include audible and visible alarms with alphanumeric and zone displays; relay contacts for remote alarm (SPDT); 100 sensitivity steps per program; individually adjustable zone sensitivity (0–255%); automatic or manual calibration; adjustable reset time; digital filtering for interference suppression; and user diagnostics. Units include two-year warranties covering parts and labor and are compatible with remote security monitoring via RS422 and Ethernet.
Bids must include separate unit prices with all trade or quantity discounts and delivery to destination. The State is tax-exempt; bidders must quote accordingly. All transportation charges are the contractor's responsibility unless otherwise specified. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder based on best value to the State, with in-state bidders receiving preference where prices are equal. Questions are due prior to the bid due date; the specific question-due date and submission address are specified in the Division of Purchases' standard conditions document (Room 119, 9 State House Station, State Office Building, Augusta, Maine).
