About this opportunity

Fayette County, Georgia is requesting bids for Kenwood Park Erosion Stabilization under ITB 27001-B, with bids due July 28, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the County Purchasing Department, 140 Stonewall Avenue West, Suite 204, Fayetteville, Georgia.

The scope encompasses site grading, temporary erosion control (silt fence, tree protection barriers, inlet sediment traps, dust control), slope stabilization using high-performance turf reinforcement matting (Solmax Propex Pyramat 75 HPTRM), and permanent seeding across a 169.19-acre recreational facility with 0.95 acres of disturbed area. Work is organized in three phases: initial (construction access, silt fencing, tree protection, sediment traps); intermediate (slope stabilization and control maintenance); and final (permanent grassing and temporary-control removal). The contractor must provide topsoil if onsite material is insufficient, coordinate all utility relocations and associated costs, remove construction debris, and repair any damaged existing infrastructure. All work must comply with Fayette County Standard Specifications and Regulations, the Manual for Erosion and Sediment Control in Georgia (latest edition), and OSHA directives for excavation and trenching. Stormwater discharge flows to Camp Creek with no flood hazard, impaired stream segments, or state waters or wetlands within 200 feet of the site.

HPTRM installation requires Solmax Propex Pyramat 75 as the primary specified product. Alternative manufacturers may be considered if submitted at least ten workdays before bid and meet all performance specifications including minimum tensile strength of 4,000 by 3,000 pounds per foot, light penetration not exceeding 10%, minimum 80% resiliency, 90% UV retention at 3,000 and 6,000 hours, and maximum carbon footprint of 2.7 kg CO2e per square meter. The contractor must submit certificates of compliance, manufacturing quality control documentation, project history showing over 2,000,000 square yards installed with 500,000 square yards in service for five or more years, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001:2015 certifications, and flume and wave overtopping testing documentation. Securing pins must be minimum 0.20-inch diameter steel with 1.5-inch washers, placed at 12-inch intervals.

Bid line items include project staking, 6-inch rolled curb (32 linear feet), grading, temporary silt fence Type-C (1,260 linear feet), tree protection barriers (989 linear feet), HPTRM (1,760 square yards), hydro seeding (15,900 square feet), drop inlet protection (3 each), temporary grassing (5,650 square feet), mulch (0.26 tons), permanent grassing (5,650 square feet), and a general allowance of $5,000.
