About this opportunity
The City of Augusta, Georgia, through its Procurement Department, is requesting sealed bids for three submersible wastewater pump assemblies for the Chafee Lift Station, with bids due October 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. An optional site visit is scheduled for September 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
The pumps must be rated for approximately 200 horsepower, capable of delivering 11,900 gallons per minute at 49 feet of total dynamic head, with a minimum efficiency of 83% at the specified design condition. The reference specification is a KSB KRT K 400-500/1508XNG-K pump or approved equal. The scope includes 16-inch discharge piping, valves, fittings, mounting components, and 50 feet of submersible service cable per pump. All freight, handling, packaging, and delivery charges must be included in the bid price.
A local-bidders preference applies when the lowest local qualified bidder is within 10 percent or $10,000, whichever is less, of the lowest non-local bid. An M/WBE goal waiver has been applied to this procurement, resulting in a zero percent M/WBE goal; however, all successful bidders must maintain records of good faith efforts with minority and women-owned businesses.
Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting all specifications. Bids must include completed Exhibit A (bidder information, business license, W-9, non-discrimination statement, and non-collusion affidavit), Exhibit B (E-Verify contractor affidavit), and Exhibit C (SAVE program verification). Bidders must provide manufacturers' data, performance curves, dimensional drawings, materials specifications, warranty information, and anticipated delivery lead time. Sealed bids are submitted as one original unbound document and one electronic copy on USB drive at 535 Telfair Street, Suite 605, Augusta, Georgia 30901. No bids are accepted by email. The bid opening is open to the public in person or via Microsoft Teams. Bids may not be withdrawn for 90 days after opening. Questions and requests for clarifications regarding approved equal pumps are due October 1, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Augusta Utilities will perform field installation.
