The contract excludes subcontracting.
The scope covers labor, materials, equipment, and supervision for overhead doors and fire shutters across multiple Authority facilities. The contractor must perform annual rolling steel fire door inspections at four primary locations — Equipment Maintenance Building, North County Transfer Station, West Central Transfer Station, and Administration Building — in accordance with NFPA 80 Standards with written records required. Emergency services must be available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week with a maximum four-hour response time; standard service requests must be completed within twenty-four hours.
The contract runs two years from the effective date with an option to renew for one additional year, plus an automatic extension of up to ninety days if necessary during rebid. Pricing is evaluated on a time-and-materials basis with separate labor rate bids for mechanics and helpers at standard rates (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday) and overtime/emergency rates (5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. weekdays, all day Saturday and Sunday), plus separate pricing for annual fire door inspections at each facility. Non-incidental materials are reimbursed at actual cost plus markup not to exceed five percent; rental equipment is reimbursed at actual cost plus markup not to exceed ten percent.
Award will be made to the lowest priced responsive, responsible bidder. The Authority reserves the right to name a primary and secondary awardee. Bidders must provide a current Palm Beach County Business Tax Receipt, comprehensive insurance as specified, and references demonstrating at least three years of similar overhead door and fire shutter experience.
