About this opportunity

The Macon Water Authority, a political subdivision of the State of Georgia located in Bibb County, is soliciting sealed bids for the procurement of one mounted air compressor designated for replacement in Department 310. While the primary solicitation document focuses on a 6" By-Pass Pump (Bid Number 26-008-MWA) featuring an Atlas Copco PAS F66 KD-S 74HP FT4 model with 6" Bauer flanges, floats with 40-foot cables, and a 12W, 12V solar charger, the current opportunity (26-009-MWA) represents a separate line item for a mounted air compressor with specifications to be detailed in the complete bid documents. All deliverables must be delivered FOB Destination with applicable taxes deducted, ready for use upon delivery, and accompanied by Manufacturers Statements of Origin free and clear of all liens and encumbrances. Sealed bids must be received by 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 790 Second Street, Macon, Georgia 31201, with public bid opening at 2:00 PM the same day. Bidders requesting interpretations or clarifications of specifications must submit written requests to the Purchasing Office at rhsmith@maconwater.org no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2026. The Macon Water Authority reserves the right to award bids individually or as a lump sum, reject any or all bids, and award to other than the lowest bidder based on evaluation criteria including price, reputation, financial responsibility, experience, usefulness, and the Authority's overall interests.

The solicitation documents do not specify set-aside designations or restrictions limiting participation to particular types of organizations, disadvantaged enterprises, or small business categories, indicating that bids are open to all qualified vendors. Bidders may submit equivalent products that meet or exceed specifications provided they furnish complete descriptive literature and proof of equivalency; otherwise, goods must be identical to the stated specifications. Bids must be valid for sixty days from the bid opening date, and use of non-standard bid documents may render a bid non-responsive. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the available documentation, and no existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements are specified. Bid documents are available through the Macon Water Authority website, the Georgia Procurement Registry, and directly from the Purchasing Department, though specific budget ranges or award values are not disclosed in the posted opportunity information.
