About this opportunity

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is requesting electronic bids for construction of a new 50' x 80' pole storage building at State Game Lands No. 322 in Logan Township, Huntingdon County, with bids due August 6, 2026 at 2:00 PM. The project is split into two separate contracts under the Separation Act: Contract No. 1 for General Construction and Contract No. 2 for Electrical work. Pennsylvania's Reciprocal Limitations Act applies to bids exceeding $10,000, establishing preference calculations for Pennsylvania resident bidders and Pennsylvania-sourced supplies where reciprocal states grant in-state preferences.

The scope includes a 4,000-square-foot unheated pole building designed to International Building Code 2018 standards, classified as Occupancy Group S-1 (Moderate Hazard Storage) and Construction Type VB. Work encompasses site clearing and grading, concrete slab floor (PENNDOT Class AA 3500 PSI with fiber reinforcement), metal siding and roofing, three overhead garage doors (two 12' x 12' and one 16' x 12'), two personnel doors, perimeter stone parking with 4-inch compacted 2A course aggregate, French drain systems, and a new 200-amp electrical service fed underground from the existing crew headquarters building approximately 150 feet away. Electrical upgrades to the existing Crew Headquarters Building include upgrading from 200-amp to 400-amp service and installing a new 200-amp disconnect. The building design specifies 3-ply laminated 2" x 6" posts at 4-foot intervals, roof trusses rated for 42.5 pounds per square foot ground snow load and 25 pounds per square foot wind load at 115 miles per hour minimum, metal ribbed siding with Prodex insulation, and 2-inch rigid polystyrene insulation around the perimeter.

The contract commences upon issuance of the Purchase Order and continues until delivery, acceptance, and warranty expiration, with the Commonwealth reserving the right to extend the term for up to three months. Award goes to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Prevailing wage rates apply as determined by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry. Contractors must provide performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of contract amount within ten days of award and maintain Workers' Compensation and Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance with minimum coverage of $250,000 per person and $1,000,000 per occurrence. Work hours are restricted to Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM unless prior approval is obtained. Site visits are encouraged and can be arranged through Aaron Ayers at 570-234-9409 or Joshua Foster at 814-669-4596. Technical questions are due 48 hours before bid opening. All bidders must register in the Commonwealth's Vendor Master file and obtain a Vendor Number through the SRM portal.
