About this opportunity
The City of Dripping Springs, Texas is requesting sealed bids for a roadway maintenance project (MAINT-2026-01) comprising 9,821 square yards of 3-inch asphalt mill and overlay, 525 square yards of spot pavement repairs, and pavement markings, with bids due June 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at City Hall.
The project spans 30 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, with the Rob Shelton portion required to reach substantial completion within 15 calendar days of initial lane closures. Work is performed in Dripping Springs, Hays County. Bidders must submit three references for similar work completed within the past five years. Performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100 percent of contract price, are required from a Texas-licensed surety, along with a two-year maintenance bond. A bid bond or certified cashier's check equal to 5 percent of the total bid amount secures the bid. Liquidated damages are assessed on a sliding scale: $200 per day for contracts under $100,000 through $2,500 per day for contracts exceeding $20 million.
Contractors must comply with prevailing wage requirements under Davis Bacon General Decision Number TX20260007 (01/02/2026) and maintain commercial general liability insurance at $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, workers' compensation at statutory limits, and commercial automobile liability at $1 million per occurrence. All insurance must name the City as additional insured with primary and non-contributory coverage and include a waiver of subrogation. Work specifications reference the Texas Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction and Maintenance of Highways, Streets and Bridges (2024 Edition) and Hays County Specifications for Roadway Design, Paving and Drainage Improvements (2019 Edition).
An optional pre-bid conference was held June 11, 2026. The City reserves the right to award within 60 days of bid opening. The City is exempt from state sales tax and federal excise tax.
