Washington County Board of Commissioners is requesting competitive bids for a 2027 Ford 4x4 F550 2-door mini rescue vehicle for the Sandersville Fire Department, with sealed bids due November 23, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Board office located at 119 Jones Street, Sandersville, Georgia.

The apparatus is a complete custom-built fire rescue truck on a Ford commercial chassis, compliant with NFPA 1901 standards. The scope includes seven compartments with roll-up doors, specialized storage modules, SCBA bottle storage, aluminum body construction, pump module, and integrated lighting and warning systems. Overall width must not exceed 100 inches, and the apparatus must meet specified performance requirements for weight distribution, acceleration, braking distance, and maximum speed when fully loaded.

The manufacturer must carry minimum insurance coverage: $2 million commercial general liability, $5 million umbrella liability, $2 million standard garage automobile liability, and $5 million excess umbrella liability.

Warranty coverage consists of the Ford commercial chassis standard warranty, a one-year general warranty on the complete apparatus, a ten-year structural warranty on the aluminum body, and a seven-year pro-rated paint warranty. The awarded vendor must conduct a pre-construction conference to finalize construction details, a final inspection meeting at the manufacturer's facility, and deliver the apparatus with authorized dealer representation and a minimum four-hour familiarization and orientation session for Fire Department personnel.

Questions regarding the bid must be submitted by email to Fire Chief Jason Boatright by November 16, 2026. Washington County reserves the right to reject any and all bids submitted.
