About this opportunity
Montezuma County is seeking bids for the 2025 Fairgrounds ADA Parking Project, a comprehensive infrastructure improvement initiative located at 30100 US Hwy. 160 in Cortez, Colorado. The procurement is a Request for Bid (RFB) involving extensive site modifications including removal of existing sidewalks, rails, and trees, installation of a new septic tank line, drainage infrastructure, and construction of accessible parking spaces. The project specifically requires demolition of current site features and installation of 11 ADA-compliant parking stalls, including 6-inch reinforced concrete paving, 4-inch concrete sidewalks, and 3-inch hot mix asphalt pavement. Sealed bids are due by 4:00 p.m. on November 6, 2025, with mandatory pre-bid walkthrough dates scheduled for October 22nd and 29th at 1:00 PM. Bidders must submit comprehensive pricing for 16 distinct project elements, demonstrating capability to complete work per engineered plans. Evaluation will focus on compliance with bid conditions and identifying the most responsible bidder who can meet all technical specifications and ADA accessibility standards.
Non-resident bidders may be subject to a comparable percentage disadvantage if their home state provides bidding preferences, which could impact competitive positioning. The county reserves the right to add or delete quantities and will retain a 5% payment holdback until final project completion. Potential liquidated damages may be assessed if the project is not completed within the specified timeframe. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the project involving site demolition, infrastructure improvements, and specialized ADA compliance suggests a significant capital investment. The engineering plans indicate precise technical requirements for materials, construction methods, and accessibility standards, which will likely influence the overall project cost. Contractors responding to this opportunity should be prepared to demonstrate expertise in municipal infrastructure development, ADA compliance, concrete and asphalt installation, and site grading and drainage systems.
