About this opportunity
The Charter Township of Bloomfield in Oakland County, Michigan, is soliciting sealed proposals for the 2025 Safety Path ADA Ramp Improvements project, which involves the removal and installation of approximately 5,900 square feet of 4" and 6" thick concrete safety path and ADA ramps/landings at 45 locations throughout the township. The project will take place along Hickory Grove, Lahser, Long Lake, Quarton, Square Lake, and Wing Lake Roads, with the primary objective of enhancing accessibility and safety infrastructure. Sealed proposals will be received at the Dave Payne Public Services Building until 2:00 p.m. local time on Monday, July 7, 2025. Bidders must submit a proposal accompanied by a 5% bid bond or certified check and provide three satisfactory municipal references for similar work completed in Michigan within the last two years for contracts over $50,000. The bid documents can be obtained from Hubbell, Roth & Clark, Inc. for a non-refundable fee of $120 for pickup or $140 for mailed copies, with plans and specifications available starting Monday, June 16, 2025. Evaluation criteria include meeting prequalification requirements, demonstrating previous municipal infrastructure experience, and compliance with all specified bid conditions.
The contract does not specify any specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Proposals from contractors who have been debarred or suspended by federal agencies will be automatically rejected. The township reserves the right to reject all bids and waive bidding irregularities. The successful bidder will be required to furnish performance, labor and material, and maintenance bonds. The project has a substantial completion deadline of November 3, 2025, with final completion expected by November 17, 2025, and includes liquidated damages of $500 per calendar day for delays beyond the specified completion dates. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the project involving 45 locations and approximately 5,900 square feet of concrete work suggests a significant infrastructure investment. Bidders can obtain documents through the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) as an alternative to direct purchase from the engineering firm.
