About this opportunity

The Town of Telluride, located in Summit County, Colorado, is soliciting bids for the 2024 Street, Alley, and Utility Improvements project, a comprehensive municipal infrastructure enhancement initiative. The procurement encompasses seven distinct work items involving street milling, asphalt replacement, and road base improvements across multiple locations including East and West Columbia Avenue, Pandora Block, Town Park, North Maple Street, and North Willow Street. Specific deliverables include milling existing road surfaces, removing and replacing asphalt layers, compacting road base materials, and performing full-depth patches where pavement failures are identified. The bid requires comprehensive documentation including a bid form, bid bond, statement of qualifications, and subcontractor schedule. Bidders will be evaluated based on technical capabilities, performance history, financial resources, and commitment to environmental practices. The procurement timeline includes a bid submission deadline of March 8, 2024 at 3:00 PM local time, with a Notice to Proceed on April 1, 2024, substantial completion targeted for October 18, 2024, and a final contract end date of November 1, 2024.

The Town of Telluride has implemented a local preference policy in vendor selection, which may provide advantages to local or regional contractors. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned, the bid evaluation will consider the bidder's overall ability, capacity, and skill. The procurement allows for two bid alternates: a project on the 400 Block of Pandora (East Half) and a road widening project on the 600 Block of West Colorado Avenue. Though specific budget ranges are not detailed in the provided documentation, the comprehensive nature of the project suggests a significant municipal infrastructure investment. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and will award the contract to the most advantageous bidder, considering both price and comprehensive evaluation criteria. Interested contractors must demonstrate technical expertise in municipal road reconstruction, asphalt placement, and road base compaction to be considered for this project.
