About this opportunity

The City of Goodland, Kansas, located in Shawnee County, is seeking bids for the 2024 Industrial Park Utility and Street Improvements project, a comprehensive infrastructure development initiative. The procurement involves multiple critical infrastructure components, including street improvements (4,345 cubic yards of common excavation, 5,184 square yards of 8" concrete pavement, 2,592 lineal feet of curb and gutter), drainage and earthwork improvements (6,500 cubic yards of common excavation, erosion control measures), waterline improvements (555 lineal feet of 8" PVC waterline, gate valves, fire hydrant assemblies), and sanitary sewer improvements (1,565 lineal feet of sewer pipe, standard manholes). Sealed bids will be received until January 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM Mountain Time, with a public bid opening immediately following. Bidding documents are available electronically through the engineer's website (www.ebhengineering.com/plan-room) or as hard copies at the engineer's office for a non-refundable $100 deposit. Bid security of 5% is required with each bid, and no bidder may withdraw their bid within 60 days of the opening.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned in the available documentation. The project is being managed by Evans, Bierly, Hutchison & Associates, P.A., with engineer contact Andrew Brunner, P.E. Bidding documents can be examined at City Hall in Goodland, the engineer's office, and several plan rooms including Dodge Data & Analytics and ePlan. While a specific budget range is not disclosed, the comprehensive nature of the infrastructure improvements suggests a significant capital investment. The owner (City of Goodland) reserves the right to waive irregularities and reject bids, indicating potential flexibility in the procurement process. The bid advertisement was issued by City Manager Kent Brown on December 12, 2023, signaling official municipal endorsement of the project procurement process.
